3-D Star Tours coming to Disneyland, Hollywood

Jay Rasulo, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Chairman, announced at Disney's D23 Expo on Saturday that a 3-D version of Star Tours--appropriately dubbed "Star Tours II"--is planned for Disneyland and Hollywood Studios in WDW. Filming began as recently as April and it was speculated at the time that the footage would be 3-D, considering the convergence technician spotted on the set. There is gossip that the ride may make available the ability to alter the ordering of the action sequences so as to create a wide variety of ride experiences. The current Star Tours will close in October 2010 and the Star Tours II opening is scheduled for some time in 2011. See videos of each the announcement and promo below. [Screamscape]
