Nicolas Cage, star of Disney's National Treasure movies, has stated that he wants the company to build a ride based on the franchise. An Oscar-winner for his performance in 1995's Leaving Las Vegas, Cage said, "My biggest thrill would be if Disney was so happy with the movie that they gave it a ride. Because I love amusement parks and I love Disneyland and I would love to see a National Treasure ride. That would be a dream come true for me." Disney in recent years has built several movie-related rides, and has also worked over existing attractions to better leverage ties to their respective film franchises. Perhaps the best example of this is the renovation of both Walt Disney World's and Disneyland's Pirates of the Caribbean rides, to which characters from the films — most notably Johnny Depp's Capt. Jack Sparrow — were added to the rides. Thematically, the National Treasure films share more with the Indiana Jones films than any other movies on which current rides are based, however, with a fourth Indy film set to open next year, it is unlikely Disney would decide to re-theme an Indy attraction, so if a National Treasure attraction is in the cards, it will most likely be in the form of a new ride.
