Cedar Point to host 2nd Annual 'Back to the Point'

Cedar Point has announced its 2nd annual "Back to the Point" event during which past employees are invited to return to the Sandusky, Ohio park for a day of fun. The one-day reunion will be held September 5th and all former employees are encouraged to bring their families.
Heather (Green) Bacon, Toledo, Ohio, who worked at the park for two summers, said she brought her husband and daughter to last year's reunion. It was the first time her daughter had ever been to the park. "We dragged her on every coaster we could. We are definitely anticipating this year's reunion and cannot wait!"
Activities planned for the event include special entertainment on Saturday night, time to mingle with friends, evening picnic, exclusive ride time on the Millennium Force roller coaster after the park closes for the night and much more!
All alumni will also receive a free reunion T-shirt once they register. Alumni are also encouraged to bring memorabilia with them from when they worked at the park including photos, memory books, etc., to display in the park's Grand Ballroom.
Another two-summer employee, Shari (Bauer) Blackwood of Sylvania, Ohio, worked at the park 25 years ago. "It was especially fun to see the displays of the past supervisors. There were names and pictures of people that I haven't seen in over 20 years."
Since opening in 1870, Cedar Point has employed an estimated 200,000 people. Some met their spouse here, a few turned their seasonal positions into careers while others went on to be leaders in their industries. Every one of them left Cedar Point with great friendships and memories that last a lifetime.
Last year, more than 600 former employees attended the inaugural event. Overall, more than 1,000 people, representing 19 states, participated in last year's reunion. Some traveled from as far as California, Texas, Florida and Ontario, Canada, while others were still in the Cleveland and Toledo areas.
"As for this year's reunion, I think I have my former roommate talked into going," said Lauren (Matejka) Dominiak of Elyria, Ohio. "We still keep in touch after 30 years. I'm looking forward to September!"
