The deal is expected to be between 1 to 1.5 billion dollars and will give Comcast full control over the theme park. The cable giant had previously acquired 51% of NBCUniversal, the company that owns the other half of Universal Orlando, for $13 billion from General Electric Co. This comes as the theme park has had record attendance due to the new Wizarding World of Harry Potter which opened last summer.

Written by John Puchella, a corporate-credit analyst with Moody's Investors Service in March, "Full ownership by NBCU, which owns other Universal-branded theme parks globally, rather than in a 50-50 joint venture with a private-equity firm, would clarify the long-term strategic and financial position of the company."

So it seems the cable giant just got a bit bigger.
