Coney Island opens first new coasters in 80 yrs

The first new roller coasters in 80 years were opened last Wednesday at Coney Island. The New York City icon's Scream Zone theme park introduced the Soarin' Eagle and Steeplchase coasters, the first since the legendary Cyclone opened in 1927.
New York City rezoned Coney Island in 2009 to try to revitalize the area. Over $150 million is being spent on improvements to the neighborhood, which has been around for hundreds of years.
Coney Island's Luna Park attracted more than 450,000 people last summer.
