Disney extends ‘Year of a Million Dreams’ promotion

Disney has announced that it plans to extend its "Year of a Million Dreams" promotion through the end of 2008. The popular promotion awards daily prizes — from simple Fastpass tickets to a night's stay in Cinderella Castle

— to randomly selected visitors. Since its inception in 2006, the promotion has been credited with steady attendance figures at the parks. "This has been a huge success with our guests and our cast members. To date, more than 846,000 dreams have been awarded to our guests at Walt Disney World and at Disneyland," said Disney spokesman Rick Sylvain. "We expect to hit a magical one million dreams late next month." Although details have yet to be announced, expect to see some new "dreams" thanks to the promotion. According to Sylvain, there are "plans for exciting new awards in 2008."
