Disney tests new meet-and-greet queue system

Disney has begun testing a new meet-and-greet queueing system this week at Fantasyland in the Magic Kingdom. Instructions posted at the meet-and-greet direct parents to wait in line while their children play in an adjacent playground. When a certain point in the queue is reached, cast members cue the parents to bring the child into the line to wait the last leg of the queue with them. Disney is making video recordings of the tested queue and gathering parent opinions regarding it so as to make changes as needed. The new system should allow for smoother line progression and fewer cranky children when it comes time for a picture with his or her favorite Disney character. [Orlando Attractions Magazine]
