Disney has begun testing the idea of centralized FastPass stations at Animal Kingdom. If all goes well, guests could retrieve a FastPass for any park attraction an the centralized location. Guests must currently travel to the attraction the FastPass is intended for in order to retrieve a pass for a specific time slot.

The Orlando Sentinel got the chance to try out the new system-in-testing and came away impressed. The system is easy to use and the logos depicting which attraction you are selecting--for the most part--fit the selection shown. While many guests are still unfamiliar with the concept of the FastPast, it's nice to know that there are cast members on-hand who are happy to explain how the system works.

However, that isn't to say the system is without its early faults. The machines are low to the ground, making it somewhat difficult to access for the taller among us. The test machines also do not display for what time you are getting the Fast Past before it is dispensed.

While it is still unclear whether or not Disney will implement this system into other parks, it seems they are at least toying with the idea. Keep an eye out for the centralized system if you happen to visit Animal Kingdom in the near future.
