Disney went wireless with Toy Story Mania!
By Ryan McClung | Filed under News on Aug 4, 2009

Network World dug into the magic that brings Toy Story Mania! in Disney's California Adventure to life and found that Imagineers have implemented a highly-powerful 802.11 (read: wi-fi) network as the backbone of the ride.
Behind the scenes are 154 workstations rendering 3-D images to be displayed on the ride's screens at 60 frames per second. These beastly machines must communicate with one another and the four gaming rigs on each vehicle to create what the rider perceives. To accomplish this, the wi-fi network must be super fast and incredibly stable to transfer the kind of data being piped around the attractions.
