Despite Disney's $4 billion purchase of Marvel Entertainment, the theme park behemoth will not use the recently procured queue of characters in any of the company's Orlando parks. A top Disney executive confirmed speculation that a pre-existing licensing deal exists between Marvel Entertainment and Universal allowing the park operator to use many of Marvel's most recognizable properties in any park east of the Mississippi River. Disney CFO Tom Staggs suggested that the company will instead focus on utilizing Marvel's characters in other theme parks around the world. [Interpark]
