Disney World testing DS-based interactive guide
The Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World has begun testing a new interactive guide called the Disney Magic Connection. The software runs on what appear to be slightly modified Nintendo DS handheld gaming systems, and offers guests their current location, the location of service areas such as restrooms, ATMs, smoking areas, and first aid booths, character locations, wait times, Fastpass information, and more. According to a report from Jim Hill Media, the park is giving 60 families a day the chance to try out the new service during their visit, in hopes of ironing out the experience prior to a larger roll-out, which could possibly happen as early as Spring of 2009. More pictures and a hands-on of the system can be found over at WDWMagic. [via Engadget]
