Disneyland's It's a Small World is set to undergo an extensive, long rehab beginning today and lasting through late November. The classic attraction, which still uses the original flume and fleet of boats created for the 1964-65 World's Fair in New York, is scheduled to be down from Jan. 22 through Nov. 28. According to the LA Times, Imagineers are still trying to decide what, if any, changes and additions to make to the 14-minute show as they go about replacing the aging flume and boats that make up the ride system. Disney officials still claim that the ride system replacement has nothing to do with operational problems on the ride, which many blame on the increasing amount of overweight guests.
