The LA Times reports that Disney's California Adventure will be re-theming the themeless Mulholland Madness roller coaster as Goofy's Sky Skool. The overhauled roller coaster will do away with the giant map of Southern California and the scattered roadwork signs in favor of telling the story of Goofy's attempts to teach novice pilots how to fly.

It is suspected that this re-theming is only a placeholder for something more ambitious yet to come. Disney is currently tied-up in the redesign of the Paradise Pier area of the park and is presumed to replace the ride entirely once funds are freed for expansion. The updated ride is expected to open in 2010.
