Disney's Hyperion Wharf update
By Blaine David Gilliam | Filed under News on Apr 7, 2011

Where Pleasure Island once was, Hyperion Wharf is now coming together. Construction is continuing on Hyperion Wharf, a 120-acre area that is being turned into a restaurant district right next to Downtown Disney in Orlando. Disney has described the wharf as a somewhat nostalgic but modern take on an early 20th century port city with an amusement pier. At night is the time to really enjoy the area as there will be thousands of lights in homage of it's namesake Hyperion, the Greek god of light. Many restaurants and shops are expected to be built along with a lakeside park where Pleasure Island's boat dock was located.
