Disney's Night Kingdom to be 5th WDW park?
According to a new report by Jim Hill, Disney is planning to build a fifth park on Walt Disney World property, tentatively called "Disney's Night Kingdom," that will aim to compete with nearby park Discovery Cove and will cost an estimated $520 million. Plans call for the park to operate from 4 p.m. to midnight, with daily admission limited to 2000 guests and ticket prices in the range of $250-$300 per person, which will include a gourmet meal and non-alcoholic beverages. The report states that attractions will include zip line rides, close-up animal encounters, night-vision animal viewing, and a state-of-the-art stage show. The park is also expected to offer a ratio of around two cast members for every guest, allowing for more personalized attention and pampering. Although no concrete date is set for a possible announcement, Hill believes that it might come during this fall's WDW press event, with the park to open in October 2011.
