Girl injured on SFKK ride walks again

14-year-old Kaitlyn Lasitter took her first steps last week, following a June accident on Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom's Superman: Tower of Power drop ride, which saw both her feet severed by a faulty ride cable. Lasitter now has one prosthetic leg — her other foot was reattached in surgery after the accident. Her family says Kaitlyn continues to battle pain stemming from her injuries, as well as depression, and doctors say that it could be months before they know if her body will accept or reject her reattached foot. Previously, Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom announced that they were shutting down the ride permanently, while an area pub raised around $30,000 to help with Kaitlyn's medical bills. The Lasitter family is suing Six Flags over the incident; the case is currently pending.
