Hard Rock Park christens Led Zeppelin coaster

The Hard Rock Park under construction new Myrtle Beach, SC has officially christened its Led Zeppelin: The Ride by smashing a blue Fender guitar into the support structure. A media event was held in honor of the occasion, and Screamscape has several new photos showing the christening, including a wide-angle view of the ride. In addition to the coaster christening, the park also announced the appointment of Joe Petruccio as the official artist of the park. His first project will be to paint an inaugural poster for the park that will feature all four original members of Led Zeppelin as a tribute to the new ride. The Hard Rock Park is expected to open on May 9, 2008.
