Hong Kong Disneyland sees attendance woes
Filed under News on Aug 21, 2007

According to a South China Morning Post report, Hong Kong Disneyland will report numbers of only 4 million visitors in the year to September, comparing with a Disney forecast of 5.7 million for the park's second year, and a Hong Kong government estimate of 5.47 million.
Variety Asia, which picked up the story, claims that neither Disney's Hong Kong office nor Hong Kong Disneyland itself normally reports attendance data, which both deem commercially sensitive. In last year's report to the Hong Kong government, which owns 57% of the park, HKDL reported actual attendance of 5.2 million. It is worth noting that many theme parks suffer through a drop in attendance in their second year.
