Jim Hill on ‘Lost’ Indiana Jones ride

Jim Hill has posted an interesting article looking at the original Indiana Jones plans for Disneyland. The plans, which date back to the 1980’s, proposed a dual-ride extension of Adventureland, which would have featured both the “Indiana Jones Adventure” ride that eventually opened in 1995
and a mine-car roller coaster-type ride that would have taken riders around the edge of volcano. Improvements and changes for both the Jungle Cruise and the Disneyland Railroad would have been included in the construction, but unfortunately money ran short.
We can only hope new WDI Principal Creative Advisor John Lasseter will decide to build this attraction in its entirety while he reviews the Imagineers’ ride and show concepts from the past 20 years.
