Jordan to get Star Trek theme park

The country of Jordan is getting a new Star Trek theme park in the city of Aqaba. Jordan-based diversified entertainment organization Rubicon Group Holding has announced that it will design and produce a 184-acre themed resort, The Red Sea Astrarium, which will be accompanied by a Star Trek theme park to developed by Paramount Recreation.

Liz Kalodner, EVP and general manager of CBS Consumer Products on the park, "At its core, Star Trek is about bringing worlds together and about a profound hope for the future. We are proud to bring such a unique, interactive Star Trek property to this part of the world to be a part of Jordan's future."

The resort will have a number of atrractions along with a large theater, late night entertainment, and many different restaurants and accommodations. It is sheduled to open sometime in 2014.
