Late Michael Jackson getting own theme park

Construction of a theme park in honor of the late Michael Jackson is expected to begin this year. The park will be a 100-acre entertainment complex located in MJ's hometown of Gary, IN. In addition to the zoo, ferris wheel, bumper cars, and other carnival-like attractions readied for installation, the theme park is set to receive attractions from Jackson's famed Neverland Ranch. Speaking to the LA Times, Odie Anderson, president of the Jackson family project said, "Everything is in the planning stages at this point, but we're moving on a fast track and we're looking forward to actually breaking ground sometime in 2010." The theme park will be accompanied by a hotel, museum, art center, and golf course. The project is expected to cost $1 billion and take 10 years to complete. [LA Times]

I'm all for it but I am just sad that when MJ wanted to provide a park for underpriveleged or sick children (at his own cost mind you) that everyone made such a big deal of it and twisted his pure motives into something that it was not. RIP Michael. Your kindness and generosity and genius will never be forgotten.
