Legoland Cali getting water park, 4-D movie

Legoland California has let loose details of two new additions to the brick-person resort: a water park and new "4-D" video experience. The 4-D, 10-minute video stars Clutch Powers, a manly lego-man who sets off into the galaxy to save the universe "one brick at a time." The video, dubbed "Clutch Powers 4-D Adventure," opens March 19 at the Show Place Theater in Carlsbad kiddie park.

The water park will be located in the northern end of Legoland, wedged between the Adventurers' Club and Lego Factory Tour. The new addition offers a six-person raft launched from a 45-foot-tall tower, a lazy river, three single-rider slides, a splash tower and other water-related fun.

Perhaps even more interesting is word that Legoland's parent company, Merlin Entertainment, may be planning to make this aquatic tendency a world-wide trend. Merlin is also installing a water park in the Legoland Malaysia park and, if all goes well, hope to add water parks to its other locations in Britain, Denmark and Germany.
