Magic Mountain nixes X2 tunnels
Filed under News on Apr 18, 2008

Six Flags Magic Mountain has announced that it has shelved plans to add fly-through tunnels to its X2 roller coaster as part of the ride's $10 million overhaul. Plans for other special effects, including fire and fog effects paired with music, are still expected to be in place when the ride reopens Memorial Day weekend. A separate report indicates the park will institute a mandatory locker policy when the 360-degree rotating coaster reopens, requiring X2 riders to stow loose articles in a pay locker rather than set them on the exit platform. Lockers are expected to be added to the park's Tatsu, Riddler’s Revenge and Scream rides as well.
