Magic Mountain to add family coaster in 2009

Six Flags Magic Mountain is "on track" to add an inversion-free family coaster in 2009, according to park officials. The LA Times reports that despite Six Flags building a rash of Tony Hawk's Big Spin and indoor The Dark Knight coasters in several parks throughout the country, the themed coaster coming to SFMM will not be a clone of either ride. The park has not added a new coaster since Tatsu in 2006, most recently spending $10 million this year on upgrades to its troubled X coaster. A location for the new coaster has been selected, but has not yet been made public.
