Man badly beaten by Six Flags security guards

Corey Carlson, a 19-year-old member of the San Francisco Youth Commission, said Sunday that he was beaten by security guards at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. The assault left Carlson with a concussion and multiple broken bones in his face.
Carlson says he was celebrating the 4th of July at the park with his girlfriend, brother and cousin and had been kicked out of the park earlier in the day for allegedly smoking marijuana. He claims that he was wrongly accused of the crime and had waited in the parking lot until 7 p.m. when he met his companions at the park gates.
There, Carlson says he had yelled profanities at the park guards, shouting derogations out of anger for being ejected from the park. He says he was then pushed, thrown to the ground and handcuffed by as many as 15 guards who then began punching, kicking and choking him.
"I was pretty much face-down the whole time, handcuffed and cooperating," Carlson told the San Francisco Chronicle.
Nancy Chan, spokesperson for Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, disputes these claims. Chen says Carlson was being escorted from the park—supposedly when he came to the park gates to meet his party—when he yelled obscenities and then punched one guard. Chen says she does not know how many guards were involved in the incident.
"He assaulted one of our security officers and continued to resist arrest ... He had to be subdued because he was resisting arrest," said Chen, speaking to The SFC.
Carlson plans to file a complaint with the local authorities and has already contacted an attorney. [Via SFC]
