Mickey moving out in Fantasyland refurb

As part of the now-official Fantasyland expansion at the Magic Kingdom, and the subsequent removal/re-theming of Mickey's Toontown Fair, Mickey and Minnie will be relocating to Town Square, according to a new report from Jim Hill. According to the article, Imagineers working on the project plan to move Mickey, Minnie, and friends to the area inside the Town Square Exhibition Hall currently used as a display celebrating the history of the motion picture industry. Hill reports that the situation is a win-win for operations, as it allows them to move many of the characters already appearing in the area to indoors away from the heat and out of the weather, with the added benefit of placing the character photo-op area at the front of the park, making it more convenient for guests.
