New pictures posted at MouseTimes show Disneyland's new Mark VII Monorail Red on the track in testing, just a week after the shrink-wrapped Monorail Blue arrived at the park via flatbed truck. The California Division of Occupational Safety and Health was expected to sign off on Monorail Red as soon as last week, allowing for test operation to begin. Monorail Blue, which has been lowered by crane onto the beamway and pushed into the backstage area, is set to begin nighttime testing in May. According to the LA Times, the new monorails' sleek exterior of color-shifting paint and grey pinstriping evoke the side panels of the 1959 original, which was designed by Disney Imagineer Bob Gurr.
