Monsters to inhabit SF Over Georgia May 16

On May 16, the iconic boat ride, Monster Plantation, at Six Flags Over Georgia will be reborn as Monster Mansion.
For the past 28 years Monsters have inhabited the 25,000-square-foot mansion. Last summer, the ride was closed for a long overdue renovation.
Gary Goddard, an ex-Disney imagineer who's company of the same name designed and built the first iteration of Monster Plantation, was contracted to redesign the attraction.

While Six Flags would not disclose how much Gary Goddard Entertainment was paid for the update, Goddard did comment that much of the original construction still holds-up; only minor fixes, updates, and a bit of modernization is required.
“It’s like a whole new mansion,” Goddard tells Access Atlanta, “except we kept all the things we think people remember.”

Monster Mansion opens to the public at the park's opening this Saturday.
