NO officials to visit Dallas for Six Flags info

A cadre of New Orleans elected officials will be visiting Dallas, TX on a fact-finding mission for the beleaguered Six Flags New Orleans park. The most prominent visitors will be New Orleans City Council President Arnie Fielkow, state Sen. Ed Murray and state Rep. Austin Badon. On the agenda are both the Big League Dreams Park and Hawaiian Falls Water Park Complex. These parks are being visited to glean new ideas for ways to bring the long-shuttered Six Flags New Orleans park back to life.
Said City Council President Arnie Fielkow: "This is a combined water park and national youth sports complex, that is a one of kind facility, that's just incredible."
Meanwhile, the company most closely eyeing the purchase of the lease on the New Orleans Park, Southern Star Amusement, reiterates their very real interest in partnering with Nickelodeon to breathe life back into the park.
"A lot of people have talked about Southern Star and they say, 'well it's a little upstart company,' but they don't realize the number of professionals that are actually working on this," Southern Star spokesperson Danny Rodgers told WWL. "We've been restricted from talking about what we're doing."
