Part of Busch Gardens Africa's new Jungala exhibit was closed over the weekend following the escape of a female orangutan from its enclosure, reports the Orlando Sentinel. The 10-year-old Bornean orangutan escaped from the exhibit Saturday evening by climbing up windows. It took caretakers nearly an hour to lure the animal into its night quarters using apples, carrots, and vanilla ice cream. Busch Gardens vice president of zoological operations, Glenn Young, says the orangutans will remain off exhibit until problems with the enclosure are fixed. Jungala, which opened in April, is also home to tigers, flying foxes, gibbons, and a variety of other animals.
