Plans for 500-foot viewing wheel in Las Vegas

Compass Investments has plans to build a 500-foot ferris wheel along the Vegas strip. Part of a $100 million privately funded project, the wheel would be accompanied with a roller coaster, and 200,000 sq. feet of entertainment, restaurant and retail space. The wheel will have 40 gondolas, each with a capacity of 25 passengers, with views of the strip.
Developer Howard Bulloch of Compass Investments, "Skyvue Las Vegas will complement both the hospitality and entertainment industries. This world class attraction fills a niche in our economic recovery, creating jobs and offering a new and unique entertainment offering for the tourist base."
The Skyvue Las Vegas Super Wheel is to open, hopefully, in 2013 and will be higher than the famous London Eye.
