Rumor: Universal's Rip Ride Rockit soft opening

Take this with a hefty grain of salt: One of Theme Park Insider's "go-to Universal Orlando insiders" says there may be a soft opening of the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit roller coaster this weekend. Early soft opening runs will likely be with employees only. If all goes well, we could easily see passersby invited to test out the new roller coaster shortly thereafter.

Witnesses have said the roller coaster testings happening now with water dummies are displaying a "swifter, smoother" ride experience than previously seen. Universal has replaced many of the track and support systems on the roller coaster to get it up-and-running as soon as possible.
