SAW - The Ride coming to Thorpe Park

The UK's Thorpe Park have announced a new roller coaster based on the popular SAW movies. SAW - The Ride, Thorpe's sixth roller coaster, will hurl 64 passengers along a 2,362-ft track for 1 minute 40 seconds. Though, perhaps the most thrilling aspect of this ride is what Thorpe Park is billing as a "beyond vertical" drop. This will propel riders down a 100° drop and will ultimately suspend its passengers through three inversions.

Says Peter Ronchetti, General Manager for Thorpe Park, “Building on the successful launch of the Park’s iconic ride Stealth in 2006, the new rollercoaster will add an element of edge to an already adrenalin packed breadth of thrills on offer.  We are determined to establish THORPE PARK as the UK’s most thrilling attraction and adding this development to our current portfolio will certainly do that.”

Thorpe Park began construction on SAW - The Ride in July of this year and expects to have the ride available by Spring of 2009.
