SeaWorld adds baby otters to the family
By Ryan McClung | Filed under News on Mar 31, 2009

SeaWorld Orlando just saw the introduction four new baby Asian small-clawed otters to the SeaWorld family of threatened and endangered.
The pups were born just three weeks ago to parents Simon and Sophie. They are currently nursing and will open their eyes in about a week.
SeaWorld breeds otters as part of the Species Survival Plan enacted by the Association of Zoos and Aquarium. Asian small-clawed otters are found primarily in the waterways and coastal waters of Southeast Asia between India and southeaster China, the Malay Peninsula and some areas in Indonesia. The Species Survival Plan was established to preserve animals that are endangered in the wild.
