Six Flags NO to reopen as Nickelodeon Universe

Nickelodeon has confirmed that it will be opening both theme and water parks on the site of Six Flags New Orleans. WWLTV.com reports that officials from the company are currently in New Orleans meeting with city officials to finalize plans for the site. Construction on the park, to be called Nickelodeon Universe, will begin in the fall with sights set on an opening sometime in 2010. Baton Rouge-based Southern Star Amusement, which had previously applied for $100 million in GO Zone bonds to refurbish and reopen the park, will be a partner in the new park.
