Six Flags Over Texas is debuting a new vision for nightly parades this summer called Glow in the Park Parade.

The parade, opening May 23, will feature interesting special effects such as a dragon with smoke pouring from its mouth and a fiber-optic version of Gotham City. The lineup will included 65 performers, six main floats, three mini-floats, and nine light-up puppets.

The parade is said to have cost $2.5 million to construct. Its path will wind through the park, taking about 30 minutes to complete the journey between the Batman roller coaster and the front gate.

Phil Rahn, project manager at Gary Goddard Entertainment, developer of the parade, told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, "This has a little more of an edge to it ... It has stunt people in it and live singers and drummers, lots of different types of lighting, so it’s very exciting and very different."

The parade is set to open May 23 and will start at about 9:45 each night. However, the parade will run only on weekends until June 13, when the parade will run daily through Aug. 16.
