SFOT Wildcatter Demolition Thumb

Six Flags Over Texas today demolished its 25-year-old Wildcatter ride to make way for the Tony Hawk's Big Spin roller coaster that is expected to open in 2008. The 128-foot Wildcatter was imploded at 2:00 p.m. today, and reportedly went down nearly instantaneously. More than 17 million

people had ridden the ride since it opened in 1982. The ride, designed specifically for SFOT, debuted as the "Texas Cliffhanger," but had its named changed to "G-Force" in 1995. The ride adopted its final name in 1999.
