Six Flags Pres. announces parks and expansions

The LA Times reports that Six Flags President and Chief Executive Mark Shapiro announced planes to build a $300-million resort in Qatar, located along the Persian Gulf. Pegged at 11-acres, the planned resort will be far smaller than most amusement parks. The resort will feature the requisite thrill rides, roller coaster, water slides, and, notes LA Times, "plenty of air conditioning."
Shapiro also said Six Flags Magic Mountain will see another roller coaster sometime in 2010 and the addition of a Wiggles World land for the children after that. He states that, if Terminator Salvation: The Ride proves popular at Magic Mounted when it opens in May 2009, the ride would be replicated at another Six Flags park the following year.
Also hinted at were the possible announcements of further expansions in Korea, China and India. Though Shapiro had no details to offer beyond saying the the announcement(s) could come soon.
