Six Flags' Texas Giant coaster shut down

Six Flags Over Texas has temporarily closed the Texas Giant roller coaster for undisclosed reasons. Park inspectors have been working non-stop to get the roller coaster operational again.
Texas Giant first closed access to park guests at around 2:00 p.m. on Monday and remains closed as of this afternoon.
"A portion of our investigation is complete,” Sharon Parker, spokesperson for Six Flags Over Texas, told The Star-Telegram. Parker declined to state exactly why the roller coaster is shut down, stating only "the ride cycle was interrupted." She would not provide any timeline as to when it may be operational again.
No passengers were injured and all were safely unloaded from the roller coaster. It may also be apropos to point out that Six Flags Over Texas is set to receive $10 million in new tracks, trains and other parts later this year. [Via The Star-Telegram]
