Students take field trip to closed Six Flags park

A group of "at least four busloads" of students from O'Brien Middle School near Reno, NV took a field trip to Six Flags Marine World only to find the park closed. Apparently the tour company the school used to book the trip didn't bother to check the operating schedule of the Vallejo, CA park
before setting off on the four hour drive to the park.
"It was pretty much a fiasco," said Washoe County School District spokesman Steve Mulvenon. Parent Jeff Wood added, "It makes me wonder what is going on with the Washoe County School District. I'm not criticizing them. I just want them to open their eyes."
The school's principal did confirm that the tour company has agreed to pay for the next trip.
