Tony Hawk on track for May opening at SFOT

Construction crews are hard at work preparing Tony Hawk's Big Spin for its May debut at Six Flags Over Texas. The steel coaster has entered the final phase of construction, as crews have finished erecting the track and are now working on the ride's entrance and queue. "We've gotten most of the steel up, but there is a lot of work to be done," said park President Steve Martindale. "This coaster is a lot more compact and has a lot more twists and turns, kind of simulating a skateboard run." Tony Hawk's Big Spin cost $6.5 million to build, and features 1,351 feet of track, a height of 52.5 feet, and will take guests on a 1:51 ride when it opens next month.
