Tony Hawk to open Memorial Day at SFDK

The Tony Hawk's Big Spin wild mouse-style coaster is set to open Memorial Day weekend at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom with a series of skateboard-themed events. The three-day launch, which will take place on May 23-25 with professional and amateur skateboarder exhibitions, break-dancing performances, skateboard lessons and deck assembly demonstrations, hands-on disc jockey workshops, and more. The family coaster will boast a 27-foot drop, a top speed of 31 mph, and no inversions. Opening alongside the coaster will be a same-ticket skateboard park featuring a slalom course, jumps and ramps.
