Universal Horror Nights scene-by-scene

John Murdy, creative director at Universal Studios Hollywood, wants to be sure guests walk away shivering from this year's Halloween Horror Nights. "We want you to feel like you're living a horror movie," Murdy told the LA Times. "We really study fear and what makes people afraid." Murdy recently took a select group of the online horror media on a behind-the-scene tour of the "Saw: Game Over" maze--new this year at HHN 2009. "We want you to let your guard down as your leaving," Murdy said. "That's when you're most vulnerable. That's when we really want to get you."
The LA Times has laid out a scene-by-scene of the attraction. Look below for a sample and click through to the Daily Travel & Deal Blog for the full list. Warning: The descriptions are graphic.
• Scene 1: Jigsaw's lair
Inside an abandoned mannequin factory, an animatronic Billy puppet, used by Jigsaw to communicate with his victims, sets the story in motion. Maze visitors appear on video screens, filmed via surveillance cameras.
• Scene 2: Razor-wire trap
To advance through the maze, visitors must wade through a web of barbed wire.
"There's a body above you that's tangled up in the razor wire and dripping blood on you," Murdy said. "You have no choice, you have to walk right through."
• Scene 3: Bathroom trap
Amid the pumped in smell of urine, a victim frantically attempts to saw off his own leg. A dead body, with a tape recorder in one hand and a gun in the other, lies on the floor in a pool of blood. Blood sprays on passing maze visitors.
