Universal settles suit with woman over ride
By Charles Starrett | Filed under News on Oct 10, 2007

Universal Orlando has settled a lawsuit brought against the resort by a Louisiana woman who claimed her stroke was caused by a ride on the park's since-closed Back to the Future ride. This comes after Florida's Fifth District Court of Appeal sided with Universal, upholding a state Circuit Court judge's ruling that the resort did not have to disclose any information about others who might have had strokes or heart attacks associated with the ride. According to the lawsuit, Mary Ann Williams suffered a stroke and partial paralysis in the Universal Studios theme park Jan. 3, 2001, after riding Back to the Future: The Ride.
