Universal Studios Hollywood's new season pass

This new year, Universal Studios Hollywood is offering a slightly changed season pass to park-goers. Ushering the previous pass whereby guests could "Buy a Day, Get a Year Free", Universal is instead offering a more traditional All Access Pass for $72 (for Southern California residents only; $84 for non-residents).

One stand-out caveat of the exiting annual pass program was the numerous black-out days. These were about a dozen days throughout the year where guests were barred access without purchasing a regular ticket, mostly on Saturdays in July and August and some holidays.

The 2009 annual pass will allow members access to the park 365 days throughout the year, including holidays. In addition to all-year access, the new pass will allow holders express entry to the park and priority line-cutting for the Backlot Studio Tour. Also, pass holders can purchase tickets for non-pass holding friends and family at a $12 discount.

The 2009 All Access Pass is available now.
