Universal's Horror Nights adding new scare zones

Yes, friends, Shaun of the Dead is coming to Halloween Horror Nights 2009 at Universal Studios Hollywood. In addition to the inclusion of the 2004 British cult classic in this year's festivities, characters based on the 1932 carnival-horror classic Freaks will also make an appearance. Each will make up one of the new scare zones at HHN 2009.

Over in the Shaun zone, guests can expect to see the namesake main character, his best buddy--now pet zombie--and many other recognizable zombies from the movie.

The Freakz scare zone will feature several, very creepy characters, some of whom's concept art you can see below. The characters released so far are (from LA Times):

• Three Face -- A three-headed fiend wielding a bloody ax

• Rat Man -- A hunchback gnawing on the innards of a kitten

• Pinhead -- An homage to the Zip & Pip microcephalics in the movie

• The Geek -- A beak-nosed tribute to Koo-Koo the Bird Girl in "Freaks"
