The results of Walt Disney World's "Twinned Town" competition have been revealed with the town of Swindon beating out 24 competing towns in the UK for the title of WDW's twin town. As explained Hugh Wood of Disney Destination International, "Britain has an established tradition of twinned towns and co-operation with its European counterparts" and Disney jumped in on all the fun. Rebecca Warren submitted her town to the competition and will now be flying to Walt Disney World to unveil a special plaque made for the occasion. Said Warren, "I still cannot believe that my entry has been selected - it's fantastic. What a great opportunity for Swindon." [BBC]
