Walt Disney World is testing new ways to slow down the proliferation of counterfeit Fastpass tickets through online sales and in its theme parks. For those unfamiliar, Fastpass is a virtual queue system that Disney first introduced at Disney's Animal Kingdom, eventually being installed for major attractions at ever Disney park. A new report by Jim Hill Media states that Disney is now testing the viability of a barcode scanning system, which would ensure that Fastpasses were valid, and which would also ensure that the rides' Stand-by lines continued to move as expected. Currently, the scanning system is being tested on the Jungle Cruise and Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin at the Magic Kingdom; if successful, the system is expected to be expanded to all rides in the "not-so-distant future."
