Woman carrying handgun arrested at WDW

A 63-year-old Pennsylvania grandmother was arrested Sunday for attempting to enter the Magic Kingdom park at Walt Disney World with a loaded handgun, knife, and scissors. Mary Ann Richardson, of Nickelson, PA, is now out of jail after posting a $2000 bail earlier today. She is charged with carrying a concealed weapon, a silver .32 caliber Beretta handgun that Richardson claims she forgot about. "I live alone where I'm at," Richardson said in a television interview. "Keeping the pistol available is important to me." Many theme parks across the country have adopted strict, no-tolerance security policies since the terrorist attacks of 9/11. "[Sunday's] arrest clearly demonstrates that the security measures are up and running and that they work," said Orange County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Corporal Susan Soto.
