World's fastest coaster coming to Germany?
According to a report published by German coaster site Coastersandmore.de, and translated by our friends at Screamscape, a new launched coaster aimed at taking the title of "World's fastest" is will be built at the world-renowned Nurburgring race track in Nurburg, Germany. According to reports, the coaster is being developed by S&S Power and will feature trains from Germany's SAT-rides. It will launch riders from zero to 135mph (217kph) in just 2.5 seconds, eclipsing the current record holder Kingda Ka at Six Flags Great Adventure, which goes from 0-128mph in around 3.5 seconds. Screamscape reports that the coaster is part of a broader plan to renovate the aging racetrack, making it an ever larger tourist attraction. Apparently, the main track of the coaster will sit alongside one of the massive track's straightaways, making a race car v. coaster duel a likely launch-day event.
